Introduction: Why Does God Wake Me Up Between 3 AM and 5 AM?
Understanding the Spiritual Meaning of Waking Up Early
There is an explanation for why one might awaken between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. God is calling you to pray because He is trying to get your attention amid spiritual warfare. Waking at 3:00 a.m. every night is spiritual, and God is calling you to set aside time for these moments of spiritual warfare.
And so I’m going to join you right now in prayer for these battles, seeing every area of fear and anxiety surrendered, and the battles you face come to victory in the name of Jesus. You are not alone in these prayers. This prayer project community is here to stand with you, because where two or three are gathered together in His name, He is present with us now.
If you are up watching this at 3:00 a.m., leave me a comment below, shut your eyes, raise your hands, and let us pray together.
Engaging in Prayer and Casting Away Fear
Standing Together in Faith
Father, we praise You because the spirit of fear cannot control us. God, we praise You because You have not given us the spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. Father, I thank You.
You’re calling us to victory, and we actively surrender our fears as we face some of the greatest battles we’ve ever come across in the name of Jesus. Lord, we thank You; this is a divine moment, a moment of breakthrough, a moment of peace, and a moment of restoration.
Applying 1 Peter 5 in the Wee Hours
Lord, we actively engage in 1 Peter 5, where it says:
Submit yourselves to God, and put yourselves in submission to Him in humility, and He will exalt you in due time. Pour out your worries before Him, because He is concerned about you. Be wise and watchful, because the enemy, the devil, goes around as a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him in faith, knowing that your brothers and sisters all over the world are undergoing the same sufferings as you.
Lord, we actively choose, in the mighty name of Jesus, to cast our anxieties on You. Lord, we thank You for this divine moment of waking up at 3:00 a.m., Lord, to engage in spiritual warfare and to see breakthrough in the battles that we face.
So we lay them at Your feet, Lord; we choose to give our worries and our fears to You even right now. As you sit at home, maybe in your bed, maybe on your couch, you can just actively, as a testament of faith, pass off your worries and cares to Jesus. Give them to Christ, because He cares for you.
So Lord, we release them in the name of Jesus. We choose to be a people who don’t hang on to the cares and worries, but cast them at Your feet. Lord, we remind ourselves in this wee hour of the night that You love us more than life itself, that You died for us and paid the price for us to be delivered and set free. So Lord, we can cast our anxieties on You; we can believe the battles are already won because Your love is greater than life.
Resisting the Enemy and Claiming Victory
Resisting the Devil Firm in Faith
God is calling you in the wee hours of the night right now to never be deceived, dear friends—to never lose sight of the reality that the devil is prowling around seeking to devour you. Resist him, resist him, and he will flee.
And so, firm in faith, we resist the devil in the name of Jesus. We humble ourselves before You, Father, and we resist every demonic assault on our lives in Jesus’ name.
Standing Protected and Covered
Lord, we thank You; we are protected, we are covered in the blood of Jesus, anointed and free. We’re not afraid or worried, because our life is shielded by the Living God.
So right now, Lord, as we engage in prayer, we take up the shield of faith, and we extinguish every flaming dart of the evil one. We thank You that the plans and strategies of the devil, in the name of Jesus, fail; they fall to the ground before the faith of Christians, chosen ones who have risen and believed and have come to positions of authority.
We know who we are and we know what we have, and we truly believe the Lord reminds you today in the wee hours of the night that the strategies of darkness are failing. They are not coming to their victory; they are falling to the ground in the name of Jesus. You walk in Heaven’s victory as you wake up in the night. You might be feeling the pressures of the day, but the Lord calls you and reminds you that you are protected, and the strategies of darkness fall.
Experiencing Divine Breakthrough and Deliverance
Psalm 91: Protection and Deliverance
As He says in Psalm 91, He protects you from the snare of the fowler. The snare of the fowler is the secret plans of darkness that wage war against you and your life, and you can know and see that He is delivering you. It’s a breakthrough moment tonight as you have lain here awake.
This is a divine moment; it is your breakthrough, it is your cause for miracles, it is your cause for freedom, it is your cause for healing. Breakthrough is yours!
And in the same way the breakthrough is yours, deliverance is yours. In the same way the Lord is your protector, He is also your deliverer. So in Jesus’ name, Father, we call to mind in our hearts the reminder of stories of deliverance.
Father, You’ve delivered us every time. Lord, You’ve never failed; You have never failed us. Not once has He failed you. He is still with you; in Him you live and move and have your being.
The enemy has no hold over you. The enemy has no victory over you. God holds your life in His hands, and He will not let you go. Deliverance is yours; deliverance is your gift. So Lord, we thank You we are delivered, we thank You we are protected, we thank You we are covered in the blood of Jesus, and the devil has no hold.
Walking Free from Anxiety and Fear
Father, we decree and declare what Your Word has said: Father, that over our home we are delivered and protected; Father, that in our going into our home and our leaving our home we are protected. So we’re not afraid, Lord, of what the day could hold as we pray at 3:00 a.m.
Lord, we’re not afraid of what this day may have in store, but Father, we have known and trusted and believed that we’re delivered. Deliverance isn’t a future event; it is a past event that has come to us through the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Father, as we sit here in the wee hours of the morning, Lord, we thank You that our mind—our mind is a place of hope—that our mental health is healed in Jesus’ name. Lord, we don’t embrace anxiety; Father, we speak to anxiety: you leave our life in the name of Jesus! What today holds is not the plans of darkness, but the victories of Jesus.
Embracing God’s Plans for the Day
Inviting the Holy Spirit’s Guidance
We thank You for the faith that God speaks at night, and we ask that such speaking be done by Your instruction. We call upon the Holy Spirit to converse at the break of day, and to speak to the inner man about Your plan, heart, thoughts, and mind.
What is the Lord saying? What is He doing? What has He got for us in Jesus’ name?
Lord, we thank You for a revelation over today. Guide our steps, direct our life day by day, step by step, show us what You are up to, Lord. We lay aside our plans for the coming day, and Lord, we embrace, in the name of Jesus, the plans of God, the plans of Heaven.
Standing in Agreement for Victory
The wish of the Lord at this moment as you pray is to let you know that He has some wonderful plans for you. As you think about today and the future ahead, all you have to know is that God is working out these plans for you.
- I am not scared;
- I am not afraid;
- I am not dismayed;
- I am not consumed.
Blessed and anointed are you in the name of Jesus. Blessed, anointed, freed, pardoned, and loved are you in the name of Jesus.
Whereas God is by our side, there is no way we will be defeated by any enemy. He did not withhold His own Son but rather delivered Him for our sake.
And so, in the mighty name of Jesus, we come into agreement together in authority over every strategy of darkness that we face in His name, and we speak breakthrough into those areas in the name of Jesus—whether it be poverty, mental health, fear, hopelessness, depression, sickness, and disease.
We speak breakthrough into that in the name of Jesus, and we declare in Jesus’ mighty name that every plan of God will come to pass for us. He holds our life in His hand, and we are not scared, so we release fear in the name of Jesus. I even just come against fear over you; I command it to go! Victory awaits you now.
Final Exhortation on Psalm 91
There is something so powerful that you need to do every time you wake up between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. This is something that can make or break what God does in these beautiful wee hours of the morning, and that is praying Psalm 91, the psalm of deliverance.
We pray this over here for victory and healing and breakthrough, and so as you’re sitting here praying, join with me here to pray Psalm 91 over your day. I’ll see you over there. God bless.
